HABS/HAER/HALS Documentation
RGA has a dedicated and talented team of architectural historians who produce Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), Historic American Engineering Record (HAER), and Historic American Landscapes Survey (HALS) documentation. As the National Park Service’s architectural and engineering documentation programs, they provide comprehensive documentation of buildings, sites, structures, objects, and landscapes significant in American history, as well as record the growth and development of the built environment. HABS/HAER/HALS documentation of historic resources is often required as mitigation for projects resulting in the substantial alteration or demolition of historic properties. We provide comprehensive HABS/HAER/HALS services, including the production of measured drawings, photographs (film and digital), and written historical and descriptive data. All projects completed by our staff are compliant with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Architectural and Engineering Documentation.
